Well, it's that time of year again, and just in case you aren't keeping up and happen to be reading this particular blog, you're in luck! Today you'll find out that there is a new Halo 3: ODST trailer out, showing off new characters, weapons, and a brief shot of a new gameplay mode, Firefight. They didn't say much about that. Anyway, there is also a new Halo game coming out, called...

Halo: Reach! I can't wait for this one. In this, you will, apparently, get to relive the Fall of Reach, the battle just before Halo 1 where all the Spartans (supposedly) died. If Chief and his fellow super-soldiers are Spartans, then this battle is their Thermopylae (like 300, for those who don't know Greek history).

Here's ODST

Here's Reach

Check out this game

This is a simple browser game, but with KOTOR style item system, and similar combat (although less involved, more dice roll and less button mashing and quick decisions). It's about the best free game this side of Runescape. Keep in mind, it's old school. Each item appears on your character at the character screen, but the only thing that matters is the stats. You appear as a dot on a map, use WASX to move, and symbols and alerts guide you. Still great fun if you like the old school, and surprisingly well laid out. I suggest you give it a shot, here's an ad to click on:

THIS IS AWESOME!!!

The torrent-download site, The Pirate Bay went to court. The four founders are going to jail for a year, and have to pay $3,600,000 in fines. One of the founders said, of all things, that the verdict was "Epic Win". He said it was "lol to read the verdict". That is awesome. He said it was win because these sorts of sites would never stop. Anyway, here is the full article. Click on the picture, as well. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2345485,00.asp

News...

Mass Effect trailer has been released. Dawn of War 2 is out. More info on Dragon Age Origins.

In DAO, you can choose from one of six "origins", including humans, dwarves, elves, and a mage. Each one has a unique starting story, and you will be viewed differently by the world in the game. This is an intriguing new step in the RPG world. I look forward to seeing how this will turn out.

In the Mass Effect 2 trailer, you will be shown a shocking new development of the story, which is planned to be a trilogy.

And Dawn Of War 2 has opened to generally good reviews, citing great controls, interesting new ideas for an RTS (no bases, control squads of story characters, loot pickups), but a mediocre campaign. Nonetheless, they said, the mulitplayer was great, and the character upgrading system was fun, something I would enjoy.

And, lastly, around 9 days until Halo Wars, but already it is recieving less than stellar reviews. Gamespot gave it a 6.5/10, a few 7/10s from other sites, but still pulled out a 9/10 from OXM, and Game Informer, two very reputable sources. But, either way, I already preordered it, so I am glad to hear about the high scores, and will enjoy it as a Halo fan. Gamespot cited low unit counts and small maps as the game's main downfalls, among other things: non-playable flood and scant multiplayer choices.

Still sounds very worth it to me, but the $80 for LE is a little over the top.

Now we're cooking with gas.

In Ranked Squad Battle on Halo 3, I got an Invincible medal. Then the other team quit, I guess they were tired of the pounding. Of course, I must give credit where it is due, my driver. I got 26 of my 31 kills while manning the M41 LAAG, the Warthog's primary weapon. My driver (THETRUTHBETOLD) was superb, and saved me from handing out a killjoy throughout the match. This was, however, probably a one time deal. Anyway, just thought I would share my awesomeness with the interwebs.
